Never a dull moment in the Land below the wind..

Lots of weird stuff has been documented this week. Well, okay. Maybe not LOTS. More like um, three.

Incident 1
Decided to do the laundry yesterday, but right after popping the clothes into the washing machine, the clouds made their dramatic appearance out of nowhere and the skies turned a gloomy gray. Sigh. Too late, since the machine was already well into it's 2nd cycle. =(
So I said a prayer. Or two. Or three. (Guess I was pretty desperate for my clothes to dry lah) And it was really amazing how God geld back the rain for that few hours, and even punctured little holes in the thick cloud formation for the sun to shine through. =D
God is super awesome!
Wanted to take pictures of the sky but my camera's not quite cekap enough to capture its beauty. Didn't quite do the sky justice... Guess some things, you just need to see for yourself. ;)

Incident 2

First ever dog with eyebrows and eyeshadow spotted.

Saw this on my way back from church. Did a double take when I saw those eyebrows. Then it took me 10 whole seconds to realise I've never in my life seen a dog with eyebrows. This one even had eyeshadow on! (Look closely ya...)

Incident 3
Next up, I spotted a giraffe taking a piggy-back ride on a dog.

Hahahahaha!!

Addictions

My previous post ended on a hopeful note on me finally going to study but....

Nope. Guess not. (I only managed to bring my notes out but before I could even start studying, I got distracted again. Sigh.)

Am super addicted to a few things, none of which are very academic-related. I am a lousy student. (Somebody PLEASE remind me of this when I start to consider post-graduate studies.)
My guilty pleasures include:

  1. reading (but nothing even remotely academic in nature)
  2. Facebook-ing
  3. Pet Society
  4. Farm Frenzy Pizza Party, and a host of other addictive games e.g. Burger Shop and those hidden object games!
  5. movies
  6. blog surfing
 Macam mana mahu study?

One paper more...

and as usual, it's the hardest to study for.
Not because it's tough compared to the other subjects but because I'm already mentally in FREEDOM-LAND. =P

It doesn't help that:

  • there was an entire SEVEN day break between this paper and the last.
  • I am a lazy, lazy pig who's been sleeping till 11am for the past few mornings.
  • it is in fact, a terrible paper to study for, because of  reasons I cannot disclose in case this post falls into the wrong hands.
However, I also know that:
  • if I DON'T study, I will regret it.
So, this post sort of helps put me into that much needed 'study mood'. Hahaha. Help me.. =]

Me = Floorball Goalie

It's just a one time experience lah. But wow.. Serious eye-opener.. Super cekap experience!
When I put the goalie helmet on, it felt like a whole new world!
Here are some pictures...

At the beginning, I was all hyped up... (But inside, I was super jelly-fied knees scared!) The other goalie in blue is Ann, my goalie ji-mui. Super cekap girl. And the guy at the back's Shawn - Nomad coach.

This is me being "attacked", but with lots of mercy from my attackers. Hehehe. With my 5 coaches constantly telling me how, when, where to stop those tiny lil white balls from getting pass me.

Me, every time I let a ball in. (which was pretty often. hehehe!)

To read more, check this out.

Finals!!!

A total of 4 papers in a span of 32 hours.
And only 1 day, 6 hours and 22 minutes more to go.

Arghhh!

Mangifera spp. seeds

are my latest nighmare. Hahaha.
Coz that's the 'star' of my group's Scientific Writing course's assignment.
So for the past few weeks, life's been full of Mangifera pajang, Mangifera indica L, Mangifera this, Mangifera that. Extraction method this, extraction method that. Phew!

Mangifera indica L. (the common mango) and Mangifera pajang (bambangan)

But truly, I've learnt a LOT from this one assignment. Though it's a real pity it wasn't at a more appropriate time of the semester. Sigh. Now everyone's going crazy trying to juggle studying for finals, compiling the Post Harvest assignment, this one, and whatever other commitments they may have. The life of an SSMP student.

In fact, just the other day, a friend went to make a pair of new spectacles. Yay! Shopping! Sad to say, though a few shops were alright, most of the shops had really poor service. =( The last shop we entered was the best! Great sales rep. Scarily, she somehow mentioned that many SSMP students have been to the shop lately. All needing help to see better.

Are we all really staring at our laptops/reading journals/releasing stress by playing computer games so hard?

The most expensive lesson I've learnt, so far...

I will NOT ever reverse a car without looking into the rear-view mirror again.
I will NOT ever reverse a car without looking into the rear-view mirror again.
I will NOT ever reverse a car without looking into the rear-view mirror again.

Hmm. I think I'll spare myself the next 47 lines. =P But know that I did NOT copy & paste the previous 3 ok???

I smacked right into my neighbour's Wira with Eeleen's Viva. Sigh. All because I was in a rush, and I assumed that there wasn't any car blocking me when I turned. And my neighbour assumed that the person reversing the car from his neighbour's place would look properly before stepping on the accelerate pedal.
I guess to ASSUME really makes an ASS of U and ME.

And the damages are costing me a nice hefty sum... =] But like a friend said, accidents make people better drivers. Not too sure if that's true but I'm optimistic that I've learnt from this one lesson. =) It would be a super huge waste of money if I didn't. Hahaha.
And praise God I smashed into an empty car coz if there were any casualties........ GULP!
